But the Spnnt Plan does not provide anything approaching comprehensive emergency coverage. It is in fact a plan that provides only marginally improved emergency services in about a third of the county. It is not too much to ask of Sprint that they present a plan that has serious value for the whole county. It is not too much to ask of our elected and appointed officials that they insist on a plan that does the job right.
In fact, as appealing as the lucre may be for those who may or may not get some of Sprint’s dough, the plan is laughably third rate, and an insult to those very families who labored for generations to establish this very special place. The only “special interests” here are those who stand to profit from this business, first among them the corporate interests of Sprint.
