Rena won!.that was the exciting news -traveling around Rappahannock County High School last Wednesday. And indeed there was good reason to be excited. Rena Mae Pullen, 19 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Pullen of Washington had won the Cherry Pie contest held at Clarke County, High School in Berryville, the night before. By baking the best cherry pie in this competition, she will represent the state of Virginia at the National Contest in Chicago on Feb. 22, 1961.
A new up-to-date world globe and an equally new and handsomely printed World Atlas were recently presented to the Rappahannock County High School Library by Mr. and Mrs. S.E. Hening of Sperryville.
General Daniel Noce who has served for the past two years as President of the Rappahannock Chapter, Virginia Farm ‘ Bureau, was re-elected to that office for 1960 at the annual membership meeting held Oct. 24 at the Courthouse, Washington. ‘ Also elected were Vice President, I.O. Wolf; Secretary-Treasurer, Allen Stokes and Chairman of the Woman’s Committee, Mrs. John H. Williams.

Thomas Williams was recognized as 1977 Outstanding Rappahannock Conservationist and received a certificate at a dinner meeting last Wednesday at the Culpeper Soil and Water Conservation.
