Council comments with expressions of support for Ms. Stockton’s views and candidacy. He said that she was asked to run for the Council “by some of the people at the table here,” and that her showing in last spring’s election makes her the proper choice for the open seat. He pointed to her activity in Town meetings and events, and said that “Gene has only come to this table when there is something about him.”
The Council then voted and again tied, with Mayor Willis, Alice Butler and Jeff Benson voting for Ms. Stockton, and Reinhardt Lynch, Jerry Goebel and Claudia Mitchell voting for Mr. Leggett.
