In his letter to the Editor of Oct. 24 John Feeney talks about “liberal generalizations.” I would like to talk about some of these so called generalization and how they affect me and why I am voting for and supporting Ben Jones.
I am 64 years old and my wife and I pay for our own health insurance.
Two months ago my health insurance rose by 23 percent from $622.33 a month to $768.26 a month an increase of $145.89 a month. This rise in health insurance is directly tied to the cost of prescription drugs.
There is a bill in committee in the House of Representatives titled “Greater Access to Affordable Pharmaceuticals Act of 2002.” This bill allows for generic drugs to enter the market on a more timely basis. It also allows the pharmacist and wholesaler to import US made prescription drugs into the United States from Canada and it prohibits manufacturers from offering pharmacists and wholesalers terms less favorable than those offered to a foreign purchaser.
