me wina, ana me river was not flowing along the rocks like it usually did. The little girl knew the sound of the river, for it was one of the most beautiful sounds in the world. It lulled her to sleep every night, and sang to her each day on her travels to and from school. The river was the best friend to all the children of the mountain. They would climb on the rocks, splash in the water, and sit and watch the leaves float by each and every day. But today was different.

As she walked along, she noticed some old men, dressed in dirty coveralls, boots and leather gloves, standing in the forest carrying a few heavy tools. She stopped to ask them why they were there, digging up the dirt, cutting down the trees and being so noisy. The old men were so surprised at the boldness of the little girl, that when she stopped to ask them so many questions, they felt obliged to answer her.

“The reason I’m here, little girl, is to build a wall in this here river so the water won’t come on my property anymore” said one old man.
