Picture Perfect day,

Rapp came to play.

All who watched had good to say;

Rapp Fire played their game in every way.

Passing and running led to scoring away,

That is, three today!

Now on to the real story,

Rapp Fire went out in a blaze of glory,

Madison’s view was terribly gory,

The crowd’s voice was all positive auditory.

Madison only scored one,

And boy, was that fun;

Fun by the ton,

For every Rapp Fire daughter and son.

Rapp was not fooling around with their excellent unselfishness. By doing so, three goals occurred. During a mumble jumble in the Madison penalty box, Owen Monroe touched the ball back to Alex Ramey who promptly decided a goal was needed, sending the ball flying for the top part of the net.

Great ball movement continued and excellent pressure on the ball which resulted in another score. Liam Wallace was the point of pressure on a Madison clear. Liam got a foot on the ball reducing the clear to a little dribbler which Cody Herrell promptly jumped on. A sneaky little side-step left and then a quick step right and it was just Cody and the Madison keeper. The ball slammed into the crossbar and continued on into the net... 2-0 FIRE.

Defensively, Josh Makela, Jake Rosenbaum, Jordan Lysaught, and of course Ry Wellemeyer and Tom Gillis kept Madison at bay, the defense only allowed a couple of real chances for Madison. On one play particularly, Josh was on his knees and he still touched the ball to Gunnar Propst who turned and sent a long ball that Juan Tisera was able to get to for a solid shot, typical play of the day.

The Rapp Fire third goal was perhaps the highlight of this season, Tom Gillis launched a long throw-in and sent Juan Tisera away down the left side of the field. Juan drew the defense to him and passed over to Alex Ramey — pressure came quickly, however, Alex was able to get off a shot and re-kick a rebound and then it happened. Time stood still, the ball rolled back to the left of Alex, right to Osha Kondori who had been following the play in a support role, stage lights, Osha calmly sent the ball rocketing to the lower left corner of the goal! Score Osha! Wow! Rapp FIRE 3-1 because somewhere along the line, Madison had scored.
