Friends of the Library President Cheri Woodard announced too that the Friends “are determined to make up the shortfall” and she issued a call for tax-deductible contributions to help support the Friends efforts on behalf of the Library.
The Board anticipates that State aid will be further cut in the coming few years, and they will continue to examine options to supplant those funds.
Other activities
• Mr. Shaffer pointed out that trustee Mark had powerwashed and was in the process of repainting the Library’s portico, and a number of the Board members praised the job he was doing.
• Mr. Shaffer also noted that the Library’s carpets had been cleaned, courtesy of the Friends of the Library.
• The Board scheduled their next meeting for Dec. 12.
