The Adult Detention Center of the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Senior Cook at the local correctional facility at 2 Church Street in Leesburg, Virginia. Applicants must be able to prepare meals for large groups of 150 or more people, be able to follow sanitation regulations to conform with Health Department standards, be able to supervise inmate workers, and work in a secure environment. Applicants will receive certification in both CPR and First Aid and will be given the opportunity to attend food service seminars and conferences as approved by the Chief Correctional Officer. Typical task will be the preparation of daily meals, adhering to special diet requirements, ensuring that all health standards are met, inventory and procurement of supplies, supervision of inmate workers, and special projects as assigned that relate to the food sen/ice process. Requires: any combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma/ G.E.D. and some coursework and at least 2 years job related experience.
