for Congress has X. been a grassroots campaign since it started in April of this year. The campaign has relied upon volunteers from all over the 7th district, and a staff from all over the country to get the word out. So far the campaign has given out over 100,000 pieces of literature, 20,000 bumper stickers, 30,000 lapel stickers and is in the process of putting up 3,000 yard signs.

“My campaign has been about old fashioned hard work,” said Ben Jones, candidate for Virginia’s new 7th District. “When I announced I said we need competition in our political system, this kind of grassroots effort allows us to be competitive while Eric Cantor outspends us 10-1 because of special interest money.”

“This has been a grassroots effort from day one,” said Ben Tribbett, Campaign Coordinator for Ben Jones. “The new 7th District of Virginia stretches 3 hours from Chesterfield to Page County. It has many diverse interests and we have been in every type of neighborhood to take Ben’s grassroots message to the voters.” Tribbett added, “Most of our campaign staff have been students or recent college graduates from all across America who have heard about this campaign and want to help”

A profile of the campaign staff:

Andrew Ballard, 22, of Chesterfield County. Andrew grew up in Chesterfield County and attended Manchester High School. He worked on the campaign over the summer in various roles. Andy enjoyed telling voters he had worked for the Republican National Committee, and voted for Eric Cantor in 2000. Andy recently graduated from George Washington University and is planning to go to law school next year.

Nick Beene, 24. of Henrico County. Nick grew up in Roanoke, Virginia. He has served as Henrico County Coordinator for Ben Jones since he started in June. Nick has volunteered for campaigns before, helping Mark Earley for Governor and Jerry Kilgore for Attorney General last year. He graduated from Ran
