Special to the Rappahannock News

Rappahannock Youth Soccer League played their final weekend of scheduled games, Saturday, Oct. 26.

Some Rapp teams will hold make-up games in the next two weekends.

U-8

The U-8 Fireballs, sponsored by Motorcycle Factory Inc., had their final match Saturday on a foggy, rainy, wet and soggy field. Madison jumped to a 2 -0 lead before the Fireballs made some adjustments and parental encouragement pumped the team up! Lauren Eline made several (actually more than six) outstanding plays at goal end of the field. Conor O’Heir and Ben Gillis poured on some offensive to help the Fireballs come from behind and outscore the Madison team. Much thanks goes to Coach Lee for his help with our U-8 Fireballs!

This week the U-8 Green Dragons played a hard fought and wet game against their parents. Green Dragon’s Alex Foster, Kimberly Pankow and Samantha Landrum scored goals with the help from Dylon Stoner, Marc Cugnon, Grace Ott and Friends. The parents were led by the very wet Mark Dick, Morgan Ott, Karen Dick, Cady Landrum, Alaina Cugnon, Sheryl Stoner, and goalie Christine Pankow. Everyone had a wonderful time in the puddles and mud!

Thank you to my players and their families for a great season. Thanks to Curtis Crawford for sponsoring our team this season!
