March 27, 1980 David ^Thornhill, grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Cary Thornhill of Boston, found a message last Wednesday from a youngster in the Midwest. While working on his grandparent’s farm’ David spotted a balloon that had landed on the Thornhill’s property. The balloon had a card attached that read “Hi balloon finder!” The message was from Troy Garver of New Concord, Ohio. As requested, David sent the card back to the youngster, using the U. S. Postal service instead of nature’s winds on the return trip.
After much effort a gasoline tank has been installed near the county jail for use by the Sheriff’s Department. The Sheriff and Deputies provide their own cars and gasoline, but now it can be purchased in quantity and be a bit more economical for the department.
Last Wednesday was 50’s day at the elementary school, with both kids and teachers dressing up in “old time”
