Spring break arts and crafts camp
Spend your spring break working on unique arts and crafts projects at the Rappahannock County Elementary School March 28 to April 1, Monday-Friday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The emphasis is on creativity, fun, games and the great outdoors. The multimedia experience includes: tie dye, basketry, papermaking, watercolor painting, drawing, art from nature, drum circle an percussion jams plus beeswax candlemaking. Hikes offered
The Ragged Mountain Resource Center will be offering several upcoming hikes, hike-runs, and moonlight hikes, including two moonlight hikes of Old Rag Mountain on Friday, March 25. Interested participants should meet at the upper parking lot for Old Rag on the Nethers side between 6:30-7 p.m. for a loop hike up the “Ridge Trail” and down the Fire Road. Layered clothing, water and a snack are recommended, and a back-up flashlight or headlamp. Rain date will be the next night, March 26.
Upcoming events include a morning hike-run on April 3, a morning hike of The Peak on April 9 and another moonlight hike of Old Rag on April 23 including a possible camp-out.
