Food that would have been eaten in that period was laid out in a feast fit for a king and queen. The sights, flavor and aroma of a sumptuous buffet of roasted meats and many varieties of nuts and fruits tempted everyone’s taste buds. To add authenticity to the experience, all were required to bring their own wooden “trencher board” to partake of this feast.
Napkins purposely were not available so students could learn how people cleaned their fingers in those times. They wiped them on their pants or skirts!
