Although Salahi grew up with an interest in cultivating grapes for winemaking, he left his home to gain all the knowledge he could to make some of Virginia’s best wines.
Salahi earned his bachelors degrees in enology, vita culture and business management from University of California, Davis near San Francisco and Sacramento.
After completing his education, Salahi headed out to see winemaking firsthand throughout the world, including stops in Napa Valley, New Zealand, Australia and South America as an intern.
“I was able to study stylistic approaches, not just find out how to make wine,” he said of his journeys, “getting to sit and listen and taste some of the worlds best wines from the worlds best winemakers was a great experience.”
