Door prizes were in abundance and winning tickets were drawn throughout the night. Some of the prizes included a cheese cake, brunch for two at the Griffin Tavern, and a large can of specialty beer. Besides door prizes there were several grand prizes participants could try to win at the end of the night. The more “funny money” people purchased the more tickets they acquired to drop into the various boxes for the grand prize drawing.
Some of the grand prizes included dinner for two at the Inn at Little Washington, a balloon ride over Rappahannock County and a day of sailing on the Chesapeake Bay.
With roughly $3,000 raised by the event the funds will used to supplement the Rappahannock County Public School’s athletic department. RCSSA member Rich Hogan explained that whatever the School Board’s budget doesn’t cover for the athletic department, they (RCSSA members) try to pay for.
“We pay for things people don’t think about like cleaning the wrestling mats or fixing scoreboard lights that go out,” said Hogan.
