The county-wide roadside and river bank clean-up focus during the month of March will be extended into April, and all county residents and property owners are encouraged to participate in this annual effort to help maintain a clean and beautiful Rappahannock. Schools, churches, businesses, families and neighbors in hollows and towns can pick a road or area near or dear to them and find a weekend, week day or time period that suits them and start spring cleaning before the snakes and weeds return. Several areas and dates for group clean-ups have been decided, and are as follows: April 2nd, The Shade Road; April 9th, Fodderstack Road; April 16th, Harris Hollow Road; April 23rd, headwaters of the Rappahannock River at Chester Gap; April 30th, Rappahannock County Park.
