1 he reason tor all ot the windows being open for instance was very simple, it was to let out all of the smoke from the kitchen. No it wasn’t on fire. It seems it had been sometime since the griddle has last been used or cleaned and, well, it all turned out okay in the end and a little hardship always makes for good memories.
There was a modest turnout with more than enough funds being raised to cover expenses. Everyone seemed to have a great time catching up and enjoyed the food, which turned out very well.
The man behind the smoky kitchen door, who was the one responsible for, in the words of several folks “that good sausage gravy” was our own Steve Richards who took the lead in preparing just about everything, and (fid a very good job at it all.
