members, friends and neighbors of the church up and down both sides of Rt. 211 to put the silhouettes on their property. Guides to the meaning of the silhouettes were left at Hackley’s Store, Mayhugh’s and Early’s Carpet, and at the Amissville Methodist church.
There are twelve silhouettes altogther. They are painted black, not only to stand out and be seen, but to show the mystery of God’s love. They have faces df the youth, because youth are part of the story. They are along the road because God’s love is not restricted to Sundays and sanctuaries but is found in the midst of our daily lives.
The first eight silhouettes are on Rt. 211 west, and the last four on U.S. 211 east, ending at the church.
