Chappell brought the evening to a close after apprising the board of a draft newsletter on the budget to go out to the public.
Chappell also reminded the board that on Tuesday, March 29, at 2:00 p.m. at the school board office he will be taking bids for the upcoming construction projects. He proposed that the Board authorize the Superintendent and facilities committee to select the lowest bidder and authorize the contract process.
Chairman of the board, Wesley Mills expressed concern about merely going with the lowest bidder to which Chappell responded that the contractors have to build according to the specifications of the architect and they can only change materials with approval of this architect.
This seemed to alleviate Mills’s concern and the motion was unanimously passed.
