Washington Baptist Church, was the setting for a certificate of appreciation on Sunday, March 13. The church has been sending care packages to Iraq for the soldiers of Headquarters Detachment of the 95th Military Police Battalion.
With deep appreciation from the soldiers, CPT Robert L. Elliott, HHD Commander sent the church an American flag, which was flown over Baghdad, Iraq. This was a huge celebration for the church.
They are still sending items overseas. If anyone knows of a local soldier or has any family members serving in Iraq or other troubled countries in the Middle East, let Geneva Welch and Nancy Reeve know. These ladies are organizing and conducting this ministry at the church along with other members of the church helping out.
Our community is deeply saddened by the death of Bertlib R. Aylor, 96 of-Washington. She passed away on Wednesday, March 16.
