Two years ago, Bruce Jones noticed that things about and around the ponds were changing. Animals living there had left and plants at the edges were different. The ponds were “silting up.” He discovered that soil from the grazing meadows above the ponds was being eroded and ending up in the ponds; thus, the change in habitat.
