It became an outreach project for the youth of the church. Adams wanted to tell the story of Holy Week using different silhouettes depicting different poses.
Large sheets of paper were taped to the wall in their fellowship hall. The youth posed for the various silhouettes, and a light was shone behind them, casting their shadow on the wall. The outlines of the shadow were traced. The paper patterns were cut out and transferred to plywood. Parents helped by cutting out the plywood shapes. They were painted black, and supports were made.
