The students began the day by gathering in the main hall for the official opening assembly of the year.
Enrollment at the private school in Huntly is at 240, up from 216 students last year. The school recently added a second first grade class to accommodate the number of rising kindergartners, following the additional kindergarten class last year.
This year 10 of the students are the children of Wakefield alumni. The school is also hosting 15 international students this year representing Belgium, Brazil, Japan, Korea, Morocco, Norway, Spain, and Vietnam.
