Virginia Tfech in Blacksburg, plans to major in Engineering, with the assistance of an Elizabeth Biggs Scholarship and a Dream Award.
Alicia Vanegas, who received two Dream Awards, has left for Berea College in Kentucky. She plans to major in art, teaching, and possibly nursing. James Orange, who received an Elizabeth Biggs Award and a Dream Award, was accepted to Potomac State University in West Virginia and will enroll this fall. Nitosha Silvey, who plans to major in Forensic Science at George Mason University, and Jason Jenkins, who hopes to play baseball and major in History at Christopher Newport University, both received Dream Awards.
Finally, Ms. Hope and Ms. Ross presented a week-long “College Success” workshop last week. Twenty-two students—all but four of them rising Seniors—participated in the course, which covered testtaking strategies and preparation, personality /career assessments, applications, financial aid, the Senior Year Timeline, a college visit, and more.
