A colorful, double wedding ring quilt is being given away on Labor Day by the Amissville Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Company.
A drawing for the beautiful fashioned quilt, handmade by the Amish, will be September 4 at the Amissville Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department. Tickets are $1 and will be available on Monday nights during Bingo from 5:30-9 p.m. or secured by calling Sarah Latham at 9374410, John Pearre at 937-2109 or Sandi Carter at 937-4218. Washington, Virginia—Cub Scouting wants you! Now is the time to join the fun and excitement of America’s foremost youth program for boys—Cub Scouting. A sign-up night will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday Sept. 5th at R.C.E.S. cafeteria. Fliers with additional details will be distributed at the school.
Designed for boys ages 6 to 10 (first through fifth grades), Cub Scouting combines outdoor activities, sports, academics, and more in a fun and exciting program that helps families teach ideals such as honesty, good citizenship, and respect.
