Thirty core photographs have been selected for a multifaceted and multi-year traveling exhibit and public education project. This exhibit will tell the visual story of these lands bequeathed to us by those who have lived, worked and loved these properties, and the written history through the words of poet Khalil Hassan, and past and present landowners. Thus, the exhibit took on the name “The Legacy of the Land.”
After the September 8 opening, “The Legacy of the Land” will travel:
September 15: Stone Mountain Vineyard with a reception hosted by the Greene County Chamber of Commerce.
September 16-October 14: The historic Lafayette Inn in Standardsville,, Greene County. The Inn will host “high teas” for interested groups. To arrange for tea, contact Alan Pyles at www.alan@thelafayette.com.
October 21-28: An exhibit at Madison County’s historic Kemper House.
