This week a photography show titled “Hip Hop Through the Tree Tops: Across Generations and Lifestyles” is opening at the Packing Shed Gallery in Washington, VA.
The two exhibitors^ are Francie Schroeder and her son Branden Eastwood who both attended the same photography school forty years apart. Schroeder has exhibited in Rappahannock on two previous occasions but put her photography aside for several years while helping start a small nursery specializing in Japanese Maples. She has returned to photography while working on projects for the nursery. Branden, who spent his toddler years navigating studio cords and light stands, started photographing graffiti art in Washington, D.C. at age 12 and continues to document hip hop culture, working primarily in Los Angeles, California and Phoenix, Arizona.
