time in a few years. The school has purchased new equipment and will restart the program at a Middle School level. WCDS alumni and teacher, Charles Cowherd is coaching the team this year, since he once played the sport during his athletic career at WCDS. Cowherd noted that there are about 15 students interested in the sport, and the program has gained a lot of interest in the school.
“Most of them have very little experience, but they are interested in learning more about it,” Cowherd said. He noted that two brothers, Patrick and James Silva are excellent lacrosse players having gained experience from Highland School in Warrenton. The first game will be on March 30 and will be against Wakefield School in the Plains.
