Irene E. Butler

Formerly of Woodville

Irene Elizabeth Butler, 90, born April 13, 1916, of Washington, D.C, formerly of Woodville, VA, Rappahannock County, died Wednesday, February 21, at her residence.

She was the daughter of the late Minnie Howard Butler and John Henry Butler of Rappahannock.

She was also the sister of the late James R. Butler, Gordonsville, VA, Alise Butler Wilson, Staunton, VA, Howard H. Butler and Walter K. Butler, Sperryville, and two infant siblings, Margaret Ella and John Ellis Butler of Woodville.

Surviving by one brother, Lewis S. Butler, Sr., Washington, VA, three sisters-inlaw, Margaret E. Butler, Washington, VA, Nellie M. Butler, Gordonsville, Dorothy C. Butler, Sperryville; four nieces, two nephews, greatnieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews, cousins and church family.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 17, at 11 a.m., at the Shiloh Baptist Church, Woodville with Rev. Michael Tinsley, who will deliver the eulogy.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Shiloh Baptist Church or the Cemetery Fund, c/o 4828 Sperryville Pike, Woodville, VA 22749.
