The Fodderstack 10k Classic, now in its 29th year, is more than just a road race. It is an event which brings people together to participate in the running or walking, to watch the runners depart from the Flint Hill packing shed and to watch them arrive at the finish line outside the County Courthouse in Washington.
Now the setting may be rural, and the tone may be low-key, but the Fodderstack 10k is taking on some hightech attributes.
This year for the first time, all registrants’ information will be “pre-loaded” into a computer program that presorts runners into their categories. When runners or walkers cross the finish line, their numbers and times will be entered into the computer which will then sort them automatically.
