Wayland Blue Ridge Baptist Associations, Inc. will have a gospel concert on Saturday, March 24 at the Carver-Piedmont Vocational Center, 9432 James Madison Hwy. (Rt. 15) in Culpeper. The doors will open at 5 p. m . and the program starts at 6 p. m. Advance tickets $10 ( at door $12), children pay $7 at the door. The concert is sponsored by Dr. R. Bernardo Snipes & Rev. Frank D. of the Alien Plants"
Are multiflora rose, autumn olive, and ailanthus taking over your property? What you may see as a nuisance, native plants and wildlife can see as a life-and-death issue. At the next presentation in the “Focus on Habitat” series, sponsored by the Rappahannock League for Environmental Protection’s Biodiversity Task Force, Forest Ecologist James Akerson will explain why invasives are such a threat to biodiversity and our native species and how to manage them on your property. Akerson heads the Exotic Plant Management Team at Shenandoah and eleven other national parks in the mid-Atlantic area. The presentation is at the Rappahannock Library, 10-11 a.m. The program is free, but please come early to ensure getting a seat.
