Greg Dodson is a desperate father who, along with his wife Shelly, are being the best advocates that they can for their daughter. Challenged with cerebral palsy since birth, Sidney has made major strides over the years due to a large outpouring of community donations along with plenty of love from friends and family. Sidney has traveled to Poland and most recently to Georgia to receive the very latest in treatments. Now, they are planning a trip to Mexico for perhaps the greatest challenge to face them - stem cell replacement. “I’ve seen the results,” said Dodson who has followed the progress of another young girl, Emily, from a near vegetative state to now standing and'moving her arms and hands with controlled movements. Dodson is determined that his daughter will one day lead a life beyond the one she was given. “I want this for my daughter, I’ll do anything I can to make this happen,” said Dodson who is appealing to the community for help. There is a fund raiser this weekend in Front Royal at the Rivendell Club located at 1190 Progress Drive. There are just a few weeks left beyond Dodson plans to take Sidney to a facility in Mexico.
