The race is a lively event for runners, walkers and spectators. The course is 10 kilometers and includes veiy little level ground, thus challenging runners with Rappahannock’s hills.
As the course is quite challenging runners are strongly discouraged from running with their dogs. Over the years there have been some" very close calls and neardeath experiences for the canine runners, who were over-dehydrated and exhausted by the run.
