Last week, the Rappahannock County Board of Supervisors voted 4-1 to spend up to $50,000 from the county’s general fund to defeat Dominion’s plans to put the line through its county.
Fauquier, Rappahannock and Culpeper officials have discussed the concept of jointly opposing the power line. Rappahannock County Administrator John McCarthy said Rappahannock officials are still in the process of deciding which law firm they will hire for the effort and whether they will join with neighboring counties.
The Culpeper supervisors have not formally addressed the idea of sharing legal costs with other counties affected by the transmission line proposal.
