In the early going of the second half, strong defensive efforts from fullbacks Chuck Stephenson, Downing McCoy and Jim McCullough cut off several R-MA drives. Lucky McCoy was everywhere at midfield, booting the ball back down in front of the visitors’ goal. Will Oliver also put forth an outstanding effort, both defensively and offensively, stealing the ball and directing it to fast breaking teammates.

In critical possessions, RMA was plagued by violations on inbounds passes while Rapp’s Jon McCullough threw the ball in for the Panthers repeatedly without a hitch. The few times that the cadets threatened in the second half, Baines leaped from one side to the other of the goalie’s box, effortlessly pulling in the ball and booting it to midfield.
