“I was serving four glasses of Iced tea on a tray once, and one of the men at the table tried to help me,” Millie Barr relates.
“The tray unbalanced and I couldn’t level it.”
So, rather than dump the tea on the guests, Millie flipped up the outside edge of the tray and poured the four glasses of tea down the front of her dress.
“It was either me, or them,” she explains, adding, for a good waitress, “it better be me!”
The customers at the Wayside are worthprotecting, both women agree. In fact, they think the Inn’s patrons are something special, and not Just because they are sometimes the famous or Important, though Wayside does get its share of those.
