Franeie reported. "In photography school, we were always encouraged to pick a theme and carry it out." she said. The couple decided on gardens as the theme for their first local show because it was a positive subject and reflected the character of the county. “It was something most people out here could relate to. Nature is a big thing in Rappahannock County and this showed the interaction between man and nature," Franeie explained.
But the exhibition grew to encompass much more than just gardens. As they looked at the images on roll after roll of film, they realized it was Rappahannock that they wanted to portray.
