Middleburg restaurants, according to Coach Stop owner Brian Jillson, are in a particularly advantageous position geographically because of the large tourist crowd the town regularly attracts and because a lot of the people who live there “just have the money to spend.”
Citing those factors, Jillson said his restaurant has “not been affected at all” by the economy.
“I don’t see any change in the way they’re spending their money,” he said. “They’re spending it like there’s no end.”
Others, like Julio Berez, owner of Su Casa in Sterling, might disagree. Berez said that, in the last eight months or so, he has noticed a decrease in his customer count. The restaurant, which ^offers Mexican food with the average meal running about #4, opened about a year and a half ago.
“Last year was beautiful until December,” Berez said. “From January on, it kind of slowed a little.” In recent months, though, business is “coming back to normal again.”
In Leesburg, Green Tree restaurant owner Fabian Saeidi said business there is as brisk as ever. Although the restaurant is
