Henry Eastwood and Francie Schroeder, the husband and wife team whose photography exhibition opens next week at Washington's Middle St. Gallery, have captured the character of Rappahannock County on film.
Francie hesitates to describe their work as art, prefering instead to describe it as a documentary. “But documentary art is quite often shown as art in art galleries," she added.
Whether documentary or art, the photographs which will hang on Middle St. Gallery’s walls for three weeks beginning on October 10 depict the people and places that make Rappahannock so special.
There’s Archie Dodson and his wife from Nethers. “He’s a real mountain man. an old moonshiner who says he hasn't seen the feds here out here since they caught him!" Francie noted.
