Prevention, a natural medicine magazine, reports that an apple a day keeps the dentist away. Parents and popular folklore have always held that apples clean teeth when there is no chance to brush. Two British doctors set out to prove this theory. Two groups of children were selected, ages under 15. One group ate raw apple pieces after each meah the second group did not. It was found that the apple particles increased saliva, removed debris, and stimulated gums.
