She expects the new proprietor, Amissville resident Emma Swatman who took over the operation on a rental basis this week, to maintain the old timey atmosphere of the place. “She’s going to be fine. She’ll learn the people and there won’t be much difference,” Margaret Barron promised.
Emma Swatman confirmed that she plans few changes. The name will be different by only a little different. Instead of Barron’s Store, it will be rechristened Barron’s Country Store. ‘‘After 43 years. I’ve got to keep the name Barron's. It wouldn’t be right otherwise.”
Besides that slight variation, however, the future don’t look to hold many rprises for what’s become a Vietown landmark. “I’m going to add a coffee pot and a checker board on a barrel. That’s about all,” the new store keepr said. “The important things will stay the same. I want to keep the same service that this community has grown accustomed to.”
