To the editor In the October 7 edition of the News, lane Barnes suggests that the Republican and Democratic candidates for Congress in the 7th District present “no real alternative” to those who will vote on November 2, since he traditional parties ‘‘represent two sides of the same coin.”
Even if we could accept Ms. Barnes’ proposition as valid in some election campaigns, it is certainly not true in this one.
The Republican candidate has steadfastly supported Reaganomics and promises to continue to do so if elected. By contrast, Lindsay Dorrier, the Democratic candidate, rejects Reaganomics and promises programs that will provide jobs, oppose increases in defense spending at the expense of social programs
