News of October 17, 1963,
plans were reported for the dedication of the library building in Washington that Saturday. Mr, L. Nelson Revercomb, accompanied by Mrs. E.M. Johnson, was to sing. There was viewing of a bookmobile lent by Orange County, and a cavalcade formed to go to the Rappahannock County High School auditorium for formal ceremonies. Warren Paint and Supply Company was offering brush stroke reproductions of master painters mounted on heavy cardboard with protective varnish for $1.00 each.
Mrs. Frank Cary of Flint Hill, chairman of the Cancer Crusade for 1963, was selected for Rappahannock’s Cancer Volunteer of the Year. Dr. Robert S. Boyd, member of the State Board of Directors of the American Cancer Society. presented the certificate to Mrs. Cary.
