In a talk to the Rappahannock chapter of the DAR here at Scrabble last week. Seventh District Congressman J. Kenneth Robinson had high praise for the organization’s contributions to educate underprivileged Indian children and its annual educational aid to students in selected other schools, mainly in the Appalachian region of the South.
"The DAR is well-known and regarded for its work to promote patriotic and historical preservation projects in the nation,” Robinson commented. "But I doubt the public realizes the extent of DAR assistance to educate needy young people, including at two DARmaintained schools in Alabama and South Carolina.
