“How is it taxed?” Estes asked.

"I can’t tell from the map. . . The map shows about half of the 125 acre Gentry tract as industrial but the map hasn't been updated to show subsequent land divisions," the zoning administrator said.

Near Blasting Site

"There are too many unknown factors in this thing. We don’t know what the residue is." Estes said. He also pointed out that Foster's proposed lot is 50 to 100 yards from the rock face that is the quarry's blasting site.

“You want to build a house back in there?” commissioner David f annon asked.

“Yea, there’s nothing wrong with the property." Foster replied.

Planning Commissioner Werner Krebser voiced support for approval of the exception sought by Foster. "If he builds a house, we won’t have a quarry there anymore. . . They can’t blast that close when they're going to be held totally responsible for any damages."

“There's a house already built that's closer than my house will be,” Foster interjected, maintaining that his proposed residence will be further than 100 yards from the blasting area.
