Mrs. Connie Virginia Atkins, age 79, of Linden, died Monday, August 22, 1983, at Warren Memorial Hospital in Front Royal.
Funeral services will be held today, Thursday, August 25, at 11 a.m. at the Little Chapel Church in Linden by the Rev. Landon Polk, the Rev. William Burrough and Rev. William Roberts. Burial will be at the Atkins family cemetery in Linden.
Bom in Rappahannock County on June 20, 1904, she was the daughter of the late Jack and Treve Atkins. She was the widow of Ellis Atkins and a member of Little Chapel Church.
Surviving are four sons, James Atkins, Ned Atkins and Ellis Atkins, Jr., all of Linden and Woodrow Atkins of Front Royal; three daughters, Mrs. Helen Kenney, Mrs. Connie Clatterbuck and Mrs. Dorothy Sullivan, all of Linden; 23 grandchildren and 16 greatgrandchildren.
Also surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Beulah Atkins of Sperryville, Maggie Atkins of Linden, Mary Anna Jenkins of Washington and Lois Dodson of Front Royal and four brothers, Elmer Atkins of Flint Hill, Levi Atkins of Amissville, Roy Atkins and Joseph Atkins, both of Sperryville.
Tumer-Robertshaw Funeral Home in Front Royal is in charge of arrangements.
