A 19K3 fund drive conducted by the Rappahannock chapter of the American Cancer Society was a huge success, according to publicity chairman Jule Konick.
The unit’s fair share goal was set this year at $3,300; volunteers going door-todoor across the county collected $4,325.
“We want to thank everyone who gave of their services, time and talents in April’s Crusade. And the county unit extends a very special thanks to all the generous and caring residents of Rappahannock who donated the money that put us far ahead of our goal,” Konick said.
A large chunk of those contributions comes back to the donors in way of services provided here for cancer patients and their families and the community at large, she noted.
The Rappahannock unit will provide money to defray the cost of transportation to and from treatment centers for cancer patients. Limit is $125 per person per year. If
