A thorough housecleaning must be made to remove the flea eggs from furniture and the pets’ favorite sleeping places. There’s another old saying that goes, “On cleaning day, move everything.” This is the only way to startle the fleas away.
Dust the pets’ beds and other places they frequent with flea powder every week to prevent reinfection. It may take two months or more to finally discourage the persistent pests.
As a side note to my own sad story, Katzanback stashed his new collar in the woods within a week of my buying it for him. He wouldn’t tell me where he had put it. So the fleas jumped from my ankles back into his fur.
My fine furry friend has resumed scratching his ear with his foot.
