On Monday, the Rappahannock supervisors scheduled a series of budget sessions and for the first time, agreed to hold a night hearing on proposed school expenditures.

“I’d like to have a joint work session at the high school so we can see (space) problems and solutions (outlined in the expansion plan for the high school),” said Chairman J.R. Latham.

The supervisors plan to meet with the School Board in the high school library following the board’s regular meeting next Tuesday, April 10, which will be held there instead of the usual meeting site in the elementary school library. The work session is expected to begin around 9 p.m.

Then on Tuesday, April 17, the supervisors will sit down in a second work session with county accountant Wally Cox in the courthouse at 7:30 p.m.

The public hearing on the 1964-86 school budget will be Monday, April 23, at 7:30 p.m. in the elementary school auditorium. "Where we have the space if we need it," said Supervisor Hubert Gilkey.

Finally, the school budget is scheduled to be adopted at a meeting set for April 80 at 10 a.m. in the eourthouse.
