in Virginia’s mountain are v it falls between April 15 and May 10. Low lying parts of Rappahannock generally get a final frosting earlier, falling in line with the Piedmont area’s last average killing frost between April 5 and April 20.

But remember, these are average dates and may vary due to local conditions and yearly weather fluctuations. Experienced Rappahannock gardeners advise that to be absolutely safe, don’t count on frost free nights until after May 10.
